| This document is the final report of the eighteenth session of the Fishery Committee for the Eastern-Central Atlantic (CECAF) which was held in Douala, Cameroon, from 3 to 5 October 2006. The major topics discussed were: adoption of the agenda and arrangements for the session, action on recommendations of the seventeenth session, main outcomes of the fourth session of the Sientific Sub-Committee, ecosystem approach to fisheries management, CECAF fishery resources inventory – FIRMS, FAO FishCode–STF activities on improvement of fishery data and information collection systems in CECAF countries, United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement and management of highly migratory stocks in the region, implementation of the Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries (1995–2005), and lastly, role of CECAF in a region with three fisheries management bodies. |

| Le présent document est le rapport final adopté par le Comité des pêches pour l’Atlantique Centre-Est (COPACE) à sa dix-huitième session, tenue à Douala (Cameroun), du 3 au 5 octobre 2006. Les principales questions examinées ont été les suivantes: adoption de l’ordre du jour et organisation de la session, suite donnée aux recommandations de la dix-septième session, principaux résultats de la quatrième session du Sous-Comité scientifique, approche écosystémique de la gestion des pêches, inventaire des ressources halieutiques et pêcheries du COPACE – FIRMS, Programme FishCode de la FAO–activités STF pour l’amélioration des systèmes de collecte d’information dans les pays membres du COPACE, Accord des Nations Unies sur les stocks de poissons et gestion des stocks de poissons grands migrateurs dans la région, mise en œuvre du Code de conduite pour une pêche responsable (1995-2005), et enfin, rôle du COPACE dans une région disposant de trois organes de gestion des pêches. |
